Prologis will expand its logistics facilities in Airport City Stockholm by 7,500 square meters on a speculative basis. The construction will add a third unit, Unit 3, to the already-existing DC1 facility at Prologis Park Arlanda. Construction will start in December 2019 with expected completion in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Stockholm continues to be one of the most rapidly growing cities in Europe, fueling demand for logistics and e-commerce facilities. But the region is experiencing historically low availability for warehouse space and logistics facilities. Given this opportunity, Prologis will expand capacity at Prologis Park Arlanda.

The new property will be a 7,500 square meter logistics facility with 11.7-meter clear height, LED lighting and GreenBuilding certification. Upon completion, the five buildings at Prologis Park Arlanda will cover almost 130,000 square meters.

Prologis Park Arlanda is ideally located just a few minutes from Arlanda Airport and 30 minutes from downtown Stockholm. Airport City Stockholm is a rapidly expanding business and industrial area. Key to the area’s attractiveness is the excellent access to local and national transportation, including the European E4 highway, national rail service and Arlanda Airport. The airport currently receives 26 million visitors every year and offers flights to 160 destinations.

- This investment is part of our long-term strategy to build our presence in the critical and rapidly expanding Stockholm region. Given current market fundamentals and the prime location, we anticipate strong demand for this new facility, says Gunnar Gillholm, VP country manager at Prologis Nordics.
