Logistics real estate company Prologis Nordics will open a new office in Stockholm in April. Establishing a presence in the important logistics market of Stockholm and Mälardalen is part of Prologis’ long-term growth strategy in Sweden. The office will also allow Prologis to be closer to existing customers for an improved customer experience.

Historically, Prologis has been strong in western Sweden with headquarters in Gothenburg. In conjunction with the company’s focus on the Stockholm area and Mälardalen, Caroline Nirberg and Sebastian Johansson were recruited to the new office. Nirberg will oversee project development and acquisitions throughout Sweden, and Johansson will be in charge of property management in the region.

“Establishing the Stockholm office is a strategic investment in our ambitious goals for growth and will simultaneously improve the customer experience,” says Gunnar Gillholm, country manager Prologis Nordics. “Caroline Nirberg and Sebastian Johansson are important parts of this strategy.”

A Key Player on the Team

Nirberg’s assignment includes overarching responsibility for project development, property acquisition and land purchases in Sweden. The role involves relationships with real estate agents, municipalities and customers to identify potential development opportunities in order to strengthen Prologis’ presence in Sweden through long-term investments.

“I enjoy challenges and appreciate being entrusted to be part of a strong team that can contribute to Prologis’ future strategy and expansion,” says Nirberg of her new assignment. “Over the years, I’ve built a substantial network of contacts in the industry that will now be helpful in my new role. My focus will be on identifying potential investments in attractive logistics locations all over Sweden and ensuring that Prologis is a partner that builds the best offer, whether you’re a land owner, in charge of new municipal initiatives or looking for new premises.”

Nirberg holds a B.Sc. from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in the U.S. and an EMBA from Stockholm School of Economics. She most recently worked at DHL in Sweden, where she was in charge of managing and developing the company’s property portfolio. Prior to that, her career took her from Hong Kong via Warsaw to Frankfurt, where she was a transaction consultant and director of capital markets at JLL. She is also a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Closer to Customers in Mälardalen

The office in Stockholm also means that Prologis will be closer to a significant share of its customer base. Johansson, who will be in charge of further developing and improving the customer experience in the Stockholm area, most recently worked at L&T. His presence provides local customers with the opportunity for more personal contact and even faster response times.
