Eskilstuna DC3 Achieves WiredScore Gold for Digital Infrastructure
Corporate News
Prologis’ newly completed Eskilstuna DC3 has achieved WiredScore Gold, confirming the building’s strong digital infrastructure and its suitability for modern, technology-led logistics operations.
WiredScore certification provides an independent assessment of a building’s digital infrastructure. It evaluates connectivity, resilience and readiness for modern technology, giving occupiers a clearer understanding of how well a facility can support their operations.
Demand for reliable connectivity, automation and data-driven workflows continues to shape occupier requirements across Sweden. Independent smart-building standards are becoming a more common reference point when comparing sites and help distinguish buildings that can support automation, connectivity and evolving supply-chain demands.
Tony Johansson, Director, Head of Development Management Nordics at Prologis, said: “We’re seeing customers place greater value on buildings that can support both digital systems and long-term operational requirements. Smart-building benchmarks help bring focus to those decisions. With Eskilstuna DC3, we’ve aimed to offer that level of confidence in a strong central Sweden location.”
Smart features
Eskilstuna DC3 is served by two independent fibre connections, providing redundancy through diverse entry routes, dedicated internal pathways and secure telecommunications rooms. These features support the installation of automation systems, warehouse management platforms and tenant IT, giving occupiers a dependable foundation for stable, efficient operations.
The building also includes an advanced smart-metering system that monitors energy use, power demand, carbon dioxide levels and temperature throughout the facility, offering live performance insights and opportunities for operational optimization.
A modern logistics space
In addition to WiredScore Gold, the Eskilstuna DC 3 will be certified to BREEAM Very Good. The facility offers 16,695 sqm of modern logistics space in a well-established distribution hub, with direct access to the E20 and efficient routes into Stockholm and the Mälardalen region. The building is designed to support efficient handling and day-to-day operations, with energy-efficient LED lighting, enhanced insulation and generous natural daylight.
EV charging is installed for both vehicles and indoor mobility equipment, and the underlying infrastructure enables improved energy monitoring and environmental performance. An outdoor gym has been added next to the building in line with the Prologis PARKlife™ concept, offering an amenity for employees and the surrounding community.
